Costa del Sol is mainly known for its everlasting sun, but also for its wonderful beaches. Remember that the sun is in zenith at midday during the summer months.
Plenty of high factor sun bloc lotion is a needed, or do as the Spanish go to the beach later in the day. Between the hours 17-20 is a clearly underestimated time to be on the beach. Currently, the beaches are open from 15 May to 15 October, but the Marbella municipality has decided that the 24 official beaches in Marbella’s municipal boundaries shall be open 11 months a year. This means that now must chiringuitos, beach restaurants, sun bed rentals, cleaning staff, etc. keep beaches in tip top condition from 15 Th. January to 15 Th. December.
